Although the effects of aging are commonly associated with more mature skins often the effects of sun damage are seen at an earlier age. Sun damage can create changes in the colour and tone of younger skins with patches of redness and increased pigmentation. In addition to the effects resulting from sun damage, oily skins can show dilated open pores and experience congestion and pimples which heal to leave ‘marks’ and mild scarring on the skin.
Rosacea is a condition that causes the skin to look ‘flushed’ and red with associated broken veins and a ‘dimpled’ uneven texture. We do not know what causes Rosacea and it is a difficult condition to cure but lasers have proven to be extremely effective in managing the reducing the visible appearance of Rosacea on the skin.
Here are some of the concerns Laser Genesis Rejuvenation can treat:
The Laser Genesis procedure utilizes non-invasive laser technology to safely, discretely and effectively treat, fine wrinkles, diffuse redness, enlarged pores, uneven skin texture, brown pigmentation and scars. You can expect to see subtle yet consistent results after each treatment, without unwanted side effects such as bruising or excessive skin irritation. Treatments can be performed in a relaxed, comfortable manner without the use of topical anaesthetics or gel.
Laser Genesis is the most effective cosmetic treatment for a condition known as Rosacea. This is a skin condition that causes broken capillaries and general blotchy redness on the cheeks, nose, chin and forehead areas of the face. It can also be associated with pimples and acne-like breakouts. By gently heating the upper dermis well below your skin’s surface, Laser Genesis transmits this heat into dilated blood capillaries to breakdown the red pigment within these capillaries and reduces the redness seen on the surface of the skin. It will also help to eliminate some of the bacteria associated to the condition and reduce the incidence of pimples and breakouts.
Laser Genesis is also a very effective cosmetic treatment for Scarring. By heating the deeper layers of the skin it creates a ‘thermal injury’ that results in the stimulation of new collagen. Collagen is essential to give the skin its elasticity and plumpness. It also helps breakdown scar tissue and reverses the effects of abnormal skin healing seen in a form of scar tissue called Keloid scarring. Laser Genesis can therefore be a very effective treatment for all forms of surgical scarring, acne scarring, Keloid scarring and Hypertrophic scarring.
Laser Genesis skin therapy is an innovative technologically advanced way to promote vibrant and healthy looking skin in men and women of all ages and all skin types. It is an excellent treatment for pigmentation problems on darker skin type’s even African American skins that are not able to be treated with usual technologies such as IPL. Now you can have a youthful appearance by treating those conditions that are typically associated with premature signs of aging and sun damage, such as excessive redness, large pores, uneven texture, and fine-line wrinkles. The Laser Genesis procedure has also been scientifically proven to produce new collagen.
You will not need gel, anaesthetic cream or ice prior to treatment. Before the actual Laser Genesis treatment, you will be asked to remove your make-up or moisturisers and, in some cases, you may be asked to shave the area to be treated the day before the treatment. Your cosmetic practitioner will review and assist with all pre-treatment requirements.
Clients often describe the treatment as relaxing and therapeutic. You will experience a gentle warming of your skin’s surface during the procedure as the laser handpiece is moved back and forth about 1/2 inch above your skin. You can immediately return to normal activities, using sunscreen if participating in outdoor activities
The treatment results are often subtle. On average, you may require four to six treatments in order to achieve optimal results. Every patient’s condition and needs vary. For more information about your expected results or the number of treatments necessary, consult your cosmetic practitioner. Although most clients report few if any side effects, the most common is a slight redness that disappears within a few hours of treatment. You must not have this treatment within 3 weeks of having a spray tan or if you have any recent excess sun exposure with tanning (e.g. went for walk on same day without sunscreen, just got back from holiday in the sun). You must not have any moisturizer or sunscreen or makeup on the skin to be treated. All makeup, moisturisers and sunscreens will be thoroughly removed before the treatment.
Over the course of 4-6 treatments, Laser Genesis can help restore the skin’s youthful glow and appearance by smoothing out uneven texture caused by aging, sun damage or scars. You will see a more even, healthy complexion as large pores are reduced in size, and minor imperfections are diminished. The individual treatment results are subtle, but the overall effect of multiple treatments can be quite dramatic.
You should avoid sun exposure and solarium treatments for at least 2 weeks after the Laser Genesis treatment because the area treated may be more prone to burning and increased pigmentation during this period. Apply a 50+ sunblock frequently and daily for 1-2 weeks after treatment. It is important to realise that the poor condition of your skin is related to sun-damage and if you continue to expose your skin to sunlight the problems treated will recur.
It may be beneficial to have additional treatments that compliment your Laser Genesis therapy. These can include IPL Limelight Colour Correction treatments, Facial Laser Vein treatments, Dermapen Skin Needling, Microdermabrasion and/or Facial Peels.
Laser Genesis Rejuvenation Treatments are performed by Dermal Therapists, Laser Technicians and Cosmetic Registered Nurses.
